Gentle Therapeutic Yoga with Dr. Janine Bobby Ellison

Sunday at Noon — Gentle Therapeutic Yoga

Your teacher, Janine Bobby Ellison, PT, DPT, RYT-200, is a physical therapist first, yoga teacher second. This class will have a mellow healing overtone, combined with a biomechanical and anatomical base to poses and sequences. Injuries and chronic conditions are welcome—you are in good hands. Class will last 75 minutes, but a few minutes will always be reserved after class for question and answer. For the first 8 weeks, the class focus will be on spine health.

Dr. Janine Bobby Ellison, PT, DPT, RYT, received her Doctorate from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, is a therapeutic yoga instructor, and a proud former member of the Air National Guard for more than a decade. She uses a unique and effective approach based in yoga, strength training, & manual therapy. Doctor Janine has taught therapeutic yoga to many, including her fellow military service members, and effectively used it with her patients with Parkinson’s Disease, Neck and back pain, pelvic pain and leaking, post-mastectomy difficulties, COPD, fibromyalgia, poor balance, spinal cord injury, mTBI, and more. Her style very much reflects how she wishes she was treated when she struggled with low back and pelvic pain, and what all patients deserve. Doctor Janine loves making soup, hiking, and camping with her husband.

Professionally, she is passionate about 2 things: helping every day folks realize that their bodies are stronger than they have been led to believe, and spreading the word about how versatile yoga can be in healing and rehabilitation. She is the owner of a small private physical therapy and yoga practice in South Knoxville, Full Bloom Women’s Physio & Yoga.
