Her practice has helped her find personal strength, stress relief and an inner knowing that “all is well.” Cheri loves to encourage others to let go of what doesn’t serve them and embrace their magnificence. Her classes are designed to compliment any lifestyle and ability level. They are geared to open student’s  to their true potential; physically, spiritually, and creatively. Cheri is a clay and mixed media artist. She teaches ‘Healing through Art Classes” at The Cancer Support Community. Cheri is happily married for over 25 years, mom to three sons who all attend the University of Tennessee and loves living in KnoxVegas! She received her professional yoga teacher training in Asheville at the Asheville Yoga Center in 2014.

Yin Yoga with Karen Rodgers @ Breezeway Yoga Studio

This Yin practice brings the opportunity to slow down and give yourself the ultimate gift. The gift of creating space in the body and the mind that may not have been there before. 

Practice moving into stillness, perhaps one of the hardest things to do, as we are always multitasking. 

This challenging practice will leave you relaxed, energized, and mindfully at peace.

I started on my fitness journey 30 years ago; Body Building, Aerobics, Tennis, Personal Training, Spin, Pilates, and finally YOGA.

I accidently fell into teaching, started training in all the above disciplines, and became a certified   instructor. For yoga specifically, I have completed two 200 RYT sessions, with a strong emphasis on Hatha, Karma, Jnana, and Bhakti Yoga. I knew, even way back then, that I belong in that role.  My desire to watch and teach and help people break through and become strong and confident are my motivation.  

It is amazing to see the physical, mental and emotional shifts that people make through exercise. 

Everything I trained for before yoga, was my preparation for yoga.  Yoga finds us when we are ready. I have tried to “gently force” people into yoga (cause I know how good it is), but truly you have to let it find you. 

Those who are inflexible, need yoga to become more flexible. 

Those who are weak, need yoga to become strong.

Those who are stressed, need yoga to become relaxed. 

Hopefully we will meet each other on the mat.  I truly look forward to it.

Alignment Yoga – Level 2 with Ron Felix @ Breezeway Yoga Studio
Oct 23 @ 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

This class is an upper level class so you have already earned your stripes by being in several series of an alignment style (like Iyengar ) yoga at Level 1. This class builds on that beginner’s level, refines it with more advanced poses and introduces you to a theme type practice. A theme could be a class focusing on back bends or forward bends etc. In addition you will be working on an inversion practice as your knowledge and experience as a beginner has taught you what not to do as compared to what you can do.

This class is taught in an 8-week series but drop-ins @ $15/class will be allowed with permission from the teacher.

Her practice has helped her find personal strength, stress relief and an inner knowing that “all is well.” Cheri loves to encourage others to let go of what doesn’t serve them and embrace their magnificence. Her classes are designed to compliment any lifestyle and ability level. They are geared to open student’s  to their true potential; physically, spiritually, and creatively. Cheri is a clay and mixed media artist. She teaches ‘Healing through Art Classes” at The Cancer Support Community. Cheri is happily married for over 25 years, mom to three sons who all attend the University of Tennessee and loves living in KnoxVegas! She received her professional yoga teacher training in Asheville at the Asheville Yoga Center in 2014.
