Saturday morning Gentle Yoga @ Breezeway Yoga Studio

This therapeutic class is a gentle movement class for all levels of experience.


Jay Dee Clayton

JD has practiced yoga since 1998.  He has lived internationally in Australia and China and experienced several different styles of yoga during the 12+ years that he lived outside of the US. JD recently finished his Yoga teacher training and received his RYT certification in September of 2017.

His teacher training was focused on breath centered yoga, and also included meditative study and practice to further develop skills in the delivery of effective yoga instruction. He will offer a Gentle Yoga class at Breezeway and JD hopes to soon add other class offerings that are currently under development. Stay Tuned…

 


Jesse Williams, RYT200

Jesse teaches a breath centric yoga class that focuses on re-balancing the body. He uses dynamic (moving) yoga poses to help the body regain symmetry.

As Jesse went through his yoga training he became passionate about how breath and movement work together to bring harmony and healing to the body. He continues to study the Viniyoga teachings handed down from Krishnamacharya through his son Desikachar and to Gary Kraftsow and other teachers. Jesse is happy to work in class and individually to allow students to fully experience the transformational aspects of yoga.

If you are seeking to restore symmetry in the body in an effort to move through life feeling less bound by your own physicality, this is the class for you. Come join Jesse at Breezeway and begin a journey to a higher quality of life through movement.

Alignment Yoga – Level 2 with Ron Felix @ Breezeway Yoga Studio
Jun 10 @ 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

This class is an upper level class so you have already earned your stripes by being in several series of an alignment style (like Iyengar ) yoga at Level 1. This class builds on that beginner’s level, refines it with more advanced poses and introduces you to a theme type practice. A theme could be a class focusing on back bends or forward bends etc. In addition you will be working on an inversion practice as your knowledge and experience as a beginner has taught you what not to do as compared to what you can do.

This class is taught in an 8-week series but drop-ins @ $15/class will be allowed with permission from the teacher.

Generally, our attention is scattered all over: the past, the future, other places.  In our practice, we bring our mental focus back to the body. We search our body for stress and tension with our mind’s eye, and then we practice letting it go. Along the way, we also become stronger, more flexible, and more at peace.

Judson Nichols enjoys tailoring his classes around his students’ specific needs. Every body is different, and each has its own path back to a state of balance. Since he began teaching yoga in Knoxville in 2008, the emphasis of his teaching has been to guide each student toward a happy medium. If we’re too stressed, then we learn to relax more.  If we’re too prone to multi-tasking, then we learn to focus the attention. If we’re too tight, we get more flexible. If we’re too flexible, then we stabilize the joints.  It’s all about bringing conscious choices and awareness to your life to give you more freedom to be who you need to be.  

When he’s not teaching yoga, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their small herd of cats. His other work involves writing custom software to help businesses become more efficient.
