Process-Based Contemplative Movement

In these classes students will learn The Process which is a framework that will help achieve deep, lasting peace and an internally sourced experience of happiness, regardless of circumstances or situation. The aim is to fully embody our experience of practice through The Process combining theory, contemplation and action so we can learn to be fully present in our bodies as they are. Students are encouraged to enroll in both Contemplative Movement classes for a complete and thorough experience.

 

Contemplative Movement – Theory & Practice

This class introduces students to The Process framework that we use to understand how the body communicates to us and through us. Each class is like a workshop and begins with a teaching followed by deep rest and seated meditation. 
 
In order for our bodies to utilize their innate healing capacities we must first learn to dismantle our chronic states of heightened anxiety, tension and a lack of focus that typify modern life. Once a deep state of relaxation is present we can begin to access the parasympathetic nervous system which is needed for lasting healing to take place while cultivating a stillness of mind that we can carry with us into  our daily lives. 
 
All are welcome. No movement or yoga experience is required, only an open mind and a willingness to learn, grow and heal from within. 
*Students may wish to enroll in both Contemplative Movement classes for a complete & thorough experience of the practice.

Siobhan McAuley

Siobhan McAuley is a teacher, writer and the founder of The Meaning Maker Movement. Teaching since 1998, her aim is to help students experience the consciousness that is witness to who we believe ourselves to be so we can expand beyond the limitations of the false self and experience lasting ease, joy and fulfillment in our bodies and our lives.

1:30 – 3PM Practice

In this class we build on the theory of The Process and learn how to apply it through the use of movement as a means to explore how the busyness of the mind drives our perception of ourselves and our lives. How we show up for practice is how we show up for our life. Through this contemplative approach to practice we begin to see ourselves and the world around us more clearly as we nurture the well spring of vitality that is always present within us.

Through consistent practice the body will learn to respond more readily while reducing the constant busyness of the mind. Deep rest is one of the most important elements needed for us to create lasting peace, happiness and healing. When the body is unable to rest long enough and with sufficient depth so that the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, the bodies natural healing capacity never gets ‘turned on’.
