In this 90 minute class we’ll explore movement through the lens of process as a way to be fully present in our bodies as they are. Working with both active and passive poses, classes incorporate self-reflective journalling, poetry, meditation and led inquiry-based discussion. No two classes are the same and students will learn to establish a practice of contemplative inquiry using their own body as their guide. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to move beyond what you think you know about yourself.
Siobhan McAuley is a teacher, writer and the founder of The Meaning Maker Movement. She began teaching yoga in 1998 and lived as a sabbatical resident at The Kripalu Centre for 2 years before opening Green Tara Yoga in Key West, Fl. Originally from Toronto, Siobhan stopped teaching yoga shortly before a cancer diagnosis when she was 44. She has since developed a framework called The Process and now teaches contemplative movement & art-making as practices to helps us live an embodied experience of awakening to the truth of who we really are. Siobhan’s aim is to help students experience the consciousness that is witness to who we believe ourselves to be so we can expand beyond the limitations of the false self and experience lasting ease, joy and fulfillment in our bodies and our lives.
