Qi Gong and Gentle Yoga with Mark Drake
Qigong (also often spelled Chi Kung) is roughly translated from Chinese to mean “internal energy exercise”. It is a broad term that encompasses the many practices that have evolved from China over the past few thousand years designed to give its practitioner vibrant health and longevity. T’ai Chi is the most well known form of qigong here in the West.
Mark’s teaching is largely based on the practice known as Zhan Zhuang, which is most commonly translated as “standing like a tree”. This simple, yet profound practice, over time, generates greater and greater levels of energy within the body, increasing health and immunity, decreasing the effects of stress, and stimulating abundant creative energy.
