Yin Yoga with Karen Rodgers, RYT-200

Yin yoga is a healing practice that increases mobility in the joints, ligaments, and fascial networks. This passive practice moves one into stillness, allowing healthful benefits to occur in the body as well as the mind. 

This Yin practice provides the opportunity to slow down and give yourself the ultimate gift, the gift of creating space in the body and mind that may not have been there before. Take the time to connect with the present moment, and notice how your perspective begins to shift. 

This challenging practice will leave you relaxed, energized, and mindfully at peace.

Karen started on her fitness journey more than 30 years ago: Body Building, Aerobics, Tennis, Personal Training, Spin, Pilates, and finally YOGA. Encouraged by her instructors, she began training and became a certified teacher in group fitness, including most of the disciplines noted above. For Yoga specifically, she has completed three 200 hour RYT sessions to date, with an emphasis in Hatha, Karma, Jnana, and Bhakti Yoga. Karen is motivated to continue teaching and learning in order to help her clients live their lives with confidence and self-empowerment.

Afternoon Yin with Mary June Thompson, RYT-500

Settle into stillness for an hour as we focus on deep stretching, breathing, and relaxation. The longer held poses of Yin yoga invite a sense of calm into the body and mind while simultaneously giving us an energetic boost. This style of yoga uses gravity to move beyond the muscles into our joints and connective tissues (fascia), improving our flexibility, mobility, and joint health while allowing us to move through life with more ease and grace. It is wonderful on its own or as a complement to an active yoga practice. (Please consider bringing any props such as blankets or blocks that you may want for your practice.)


Mary June Thompson, RYT 500, is a dedicated long-time practitioner who believes in the ability of yoga to align body, mind, and spirit, relieve stress, and improve overall health and quality of life at any age. She loves teaching yoga to help others receive these benefits. Off the mat, she is also a self-taught chef, herbalist, avid gardener, and holistic health expert who enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies and soaking up the sun on a beach whenever possible.
