Q: Why work with a wellness coach?

Wellness coaching from an East-West perspective focuses on multiple aspects of the individual’s unique mind-body-spirit-emotions-energy that we need in balance to constitute true and lasting health. Coaching provides you with tools and support tailored to meet your unique personal needs and help you achieve your wellness goals and find and maintain vibrant health.

Q: What is Ayurveda and how can it help me?

Ayurveda is a 5,000+year old wisdom tradition of health and healing from India. In Ayurveda, we focus on achieving and maintaining vibrant good health and wellness by aligning ourselves with nature and its rhythms. Each person is evaluated for their individual nature and tendencies (Prakriti, Doshas) and recommendations for specific simple, low or no cost actions and routines to optimize health are made based on each person’s individuality.

Q: What can this approach help me achieve?

Working with the 3 Pillars of Health (Diet, Lifestyle, & Stress Management), Mary June helps people identify and work through areas for improvement. Examples of areas we can work on together to achieve better health and wellness include:

  • Improvements to diet/nutrition

  • Reduce risks for chronic diseases/improve current chronic conditions

  • Repair/improve gut health and digestion

  • Stress management/reduction

  • Hormone balance

  • Toxin removal/reduction

  • Strengthening the immune system

  • Better sleep

  • Reducing anxiety and helping to lift depression

  • Upgrading your movement

  • Improving energy and focus

  • Restoring circadian rhythm and realigning with natural cycles

What to expect from your sessions:

Upon scheduling, Mary June will ask you to fill out a questionnaire. This will be the basis for her assessment of your unique individual constitution and areas of focus for action and improvement that will provide the basis for your wellness plan.

At each session, we will focus on a particular area and simple, actionable tips and tools that you can incorporate into your life to benefit your health and wellness and help to resolve any issues that you may be having, and if we do multiple sessions, we will follow up on the previous sessions’ recommendations to see what is working and what may not be and bring in additional techniques/suggestions as needed to find what works best for you as we are all unique and resonate with some things better than others.

While we can accomplish some basic planning and actions from one coaching session, it is ideal to have multiple sessions regularly for a period of time for the client to receive the most support and greatest benefits from slowly implementing new actions and routines over time. With multiple sessions, we can also better assess what works for the client and what does not as we go along, adjusting course as necessary along the way to finding meaningful, lasting change that supports good health and enlivens the client’s life with vitality.
